The
Nigerian Professional Football League week 2 matches has been rescheduled to
midweek as a result of the continental engagements of four clubs this weekend.
The
games were put forward to accommodate the teams campaigning in the CAF
champions league and confederations cup and ensure uniformity to prevent future
fixture congestion.
Kano
Pillars will play hosts to AC Leopards of Congo, while Rangers travel to
Brjumbura to play Burundian champions Vita this weekend in the first round of
the CAF Champions League, having both made it past the preliminary stage.
In
the CAF Confederations Cup, Nigeria Federation Cup holders Heartland of Owerri
will play host to ambitious Gabonese club US Bitam this weekend.Lobi Stars of
Makurdi, who placed third in the League last season and were the Federation Cup
losing finalists, will welcome Liga Muçulmana of Mozambique to the Benue State
capital.
The
NPFL will resume with mid-week action scheduled for 20th and 21st of March followed
by Week 3 action at the weekend. The fixtures are listed below:
