CHAIRMAN PLEDGES MORE COMMITMENTS AS HE ACCOUNTS FOR OFFICE


The Chairman of Obalende Ikoyi Local Government Development Area, Hon Adewale Adeniji, has reiterated his commitments to remain focus and determined in his drive to remain on course in the remaining years of his second tenure.
The Chairman made this declaration while giving accounts of his stewardship in a publication issued by the Council.
“We will keep working within the frame work of our party’s manifestoes and policy thrust to  bring the dividends of democracy to the door step of people in Ikoyi Obalende” Adeniji said .
According to him, his administration has been able to put in place administrative machinery which hinged on result oriented philosophy in the areas of health, education, social integration, infrastructural facelift as well as robust relationship between the government and people from all works of life domiciled in the local council area.
He stressed that, his administration has witnessed improved primary health care in Ikoyi –Obalende. In terms of education, he revealed that there have been educational renew through the provision of requisite educational materials.
Adeniji recount that “In line with the manifesto of our party to make education the rights of all children of school age in Ikoyi –Obalende, we have taken various steps to encourage indigent students to push the frontiers of their academic dreams. One of such steps is the annual free UTME and GCE FORMS which has largely reduced the financial burden usually shouldered by parents.”
Speaking about his contributions towards environmental challenges, he said that 75 team of men and women have been inaugurated to complement the state governments drive to keep Lagos clean.
The council boss also expressed belief that Ikoyi Obalende will evolve into a model local government in the nearest future. “We have a developed local government to start with, all we need to do is to keep pace with our renewal drive on infrastructure and maintain them” he said.
Some of his achievements as noted in the publication, include: completion of Eti- Osa house, provision of borehole water; donation of kit-bags, exercise books and raincoat to primary school pupils; construction of roads; renovation of vocation training centre and donation of equipments to the centre; inauguration of environmental gang in the LCDA; renovation of primary health centre and donation of first –aid Boxes to primary schools in the area among many others.
All these, according to him, could not have been possible to achieve without the efforts and supports of his party leadership and members who stood strongly by him through the period of travails.
