A 23-year-old son of a Lagos landlord, Lukman
Alausa, was yesterday brought before an Igbosere magistrate’s court for
allegedly pouring faeces in a tenant’s apartment.
Alausa, a bricklayer, of 13, Adebowale Road, Epe,
Lagos is facing a two-count charge of disorderly conduct and perpetuating
harmful acts.
The prosecutor, Cpl. Babaje Ishiaku told the court
that the accused committed the offences at 7.30 a.m. on April 23 at his
apartment.
Ishiaku said Alausa also conducted himself in a
manner likely to cause a breach of the peace by chasing one Ms Jennifer Ani,
his father’s tenant, with a machete during an altercation.
He alleged that the accused polluted the premises
by emptying a bucket of faeces at Ani’s doorstep and passage.
According to the prosecution, the offences violate
Sections 164 (a) and 166 (d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The the accused may be sentenced to three years
imprisonment on conviction.
The accused, however, denied the charges.
The Magistrate, Miss Oluwatosin Fowowe, granted the
accused bail in the sum of N20,000 with a surety in like sum.
The case was adjourned till May 15 for trial.
