Eight persons have been arraigned before an
Igbosere magistrate’s court in Lagos for allegedly robbing one Otunba
Kehinde Adeosun of N150,000, and unlawfully inflicting injuries on his
body.
The accused who were arraigned before
Magistrate A. F.O. Botoku are: Prince Adedipe Adegesin (aka Ewenla) (35),
Gbadamosi Michael (65), Olusola Saheed (23), Kayode Akotipopo (27), Kazeem
Lawal (35), Abiodun Adeosun (47), Wasiu Alarape (23) and Akinwande Olanrewaju
(24) alongside others now at large.
According to the charge dated April 24, 2014 and
signed by the Police prosecutor, Ubanwa Kenneth, the accused persons were said
to have on March 3, 2014 at 103, Agbe Road, Egba, Lagos conspired among
themselves to commit felony to wit: armed robbery and accordingly committed an
offence punishable under Section 6(B) of the robbery and firearm (Special
Provisions) Act Cap R11 Vol. 14 LFN 2014.
When the charge was read to the accused persons,
they, however, pleaded not guilty.
Magistrate Botoku granted them bail in the
sum of N100,000 each with two sureties in like sum and directed that the
sureties must have landed property within the state.
